Chronicles7:6 And the priests
waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of music of
the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his
mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the
priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.

Luke 15:25
Now his elder son was in the field: and
as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing.

CLARIFICATION #1: |

The first
verse "2 Chronicles 7:6" is of the old law. We are under another
dispensation from David the King. In fact if you read "2 Chronicles
29:25,26" you would find the commandment given on what
instrument where to be used and who where to play them. No mention of modern piano or organ. The new law in which we are under also tells us how to praise or
Lord. Ephesians 5:19

2 Chronicles
29:25 And he set the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king’s seer, and Nathan the prophet: for so was the commandment of the LORD by his prophets.
26 And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets. |
|
Ephesians 5:19
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and
hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the
Lord;
|
|
The second verse "Luke 15:25" is a new testament book, but it's not an example of praising the Lord, it's about a father showing praise that his son has return to him. It's neither an example nor a command for how we are to praise our Lord. | |
