Comments From Others - Can the Lords Supper be offered at Sunday evening service?
COMMENT#2:
On Sunday night is it scriptural to partake in an other room apart from the congregation.
CLARIFICATION#2:
I don’t think this would be any different from taking the Lords Supper to an individual’s home.
(See Comment 1 for all the scripture on this)
You would not take the Lords Supper to an individual’s home because the command is to come together. Partaking of the Lords Supper is both a congregational and
individual act. How can you tarry (wait) for someone in another room? When a member that could not be at the morning service is served the Lords Supper the other
member’s terry for that person. They don’t continue on with a song or serve a person the Lords Supper while the preacher is preaching.
This also gets back to the excluding of the apostles doctrine on what we are to do when we come together. If you are going to come together on the first day
of the week, would you make a rule that says “on the third week of the month we are not going to sing and on the second week of the month we will not pray? It seems
just this silly to think that a congregation would come together and either not offer the Lords Supper or make someone remove themselves form the presents of the
church to partake of the Lords Supper.
Thank you for your comments.
