Comments From Others - Can musical instruments be used in Church services?

CLARIFICATION#3:

The write up you have pressented regarding eating in the church or fellowship hall is very ok with the neccessary bible texts quoted. I personaly don't buy the idea that it amounts to sin or abuse of God's authority to use the church collection to setup recretional facilities.

Some ministries use the money collected in the church to advance the local communities by setting up recretional facilities for the members and the locals. When food and drinks are taken in these places will in no way be an abuse of God's authority. The reason being that many people will be blessed, and additional money made for other projects of the church. When we are close to the community, we have more opportunity to talk to and win them over for our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ who is the reason for our existence.

It is not the work of the church to setup recreational facilities or to advance the local communities. This is what makes it wrong. The fact that the money could be used to support another preacher or other method of spreading the gospel is being over shadowed by spending money for non-biblical activities. If we do what God tells us to do with the money and stop trying to think for God, then we will be pleasing to Him. To go beyond what God says is the meaning of not having God’s authority.

De 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

It is also not the work of the church to win people over by giving them food or entertainment. If you win someone over with a hotdog another church will take them away with steak. Things like this is becoming the basis of how people pick a church. People will pick a church based on their child care or gym. In order to get these "things" churches will do anything to raise money with bingos, raffles, pip sells , whatever because the end justifies the means. Churches are using their ideas, emotions and desires to pervert worship instead of following God's word. We have a specific command on how money is collected.

1 Co 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

To create as you call additional money is not following Gods plan.

The main thing that caught my attention from your comment is the statement you make

“When we are close to the community, we have more opportunity to talk to and win them over for our Lord and savior Jesus Christ who is the reason for our existence.”

This is simple not true. We are commanded to teach. We do not persuade, or entice or manipulate someone into joining the church. God is the One who adds people to the church, not a hotdog.

Ac 2:47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

A desire to attend church to learn about Gods word is more pleasing to God than a desire to attend church because of the gymnasium or the food served. We cannot know the mind of God, so stop trying.

Ro 11:34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
Eph 4:17 ¶ This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
