Comments From Others - What Must I Do To Be Saved:
I agree with what you have said here, except that from what I understand, you believe that you have to be baptized to be enter into heaven. If that
is what you mean, I don't agree with that. I do believe in water baptism, and someone's reasons for not being baptized might keep them out of
heaven, but not all people that enter into heaven will be baptized. If that were so, then what about the death bed repentances, and those who
give their heart to the Lord and are killed in an auto accident on their way home from church that night? God bless you!!
As far as a "death bed
repentance", there are no scriptures referring to this ever happening. In fact it seems unfair
if you are lucky enough to die in a way that would allow you to repent and
go to heaven, verses a quick death, which would not allow time to repent and
then go to hell. Your salvation would be based on how you died? The only
thing close to a biblical "death bed repentance" is the thieve on the cross,
problem with this is it was while Jesus was on earth. Jesus, while on
the earth had power to forgive sin.
Matthew 9:6 But
that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins,
(then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go
unto thine house.)
Also Christ lived under the Mosical law of the Old Testament. We now are in the
Christian dispensation. Baptism is how our sin is forgiven today.
Acts
2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in
the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the
gift of the Holy Ghost.
I hope you are not offended by what I've said here, but instead you realize that just maybe
you have been taught wrong, and that you should take what the bible says to be true and not what
man has told you is OK. Please remember this. If you add just one thing or remove just one thing
to what God has given us, then it becomes your will and not His will.
